Hey, hey! It's that time again. The second Saturday of the month, June - October, is Artwalk Waldoboro. We're thrilled to report that June's artwalk was a great success, with many people stopping by to eat some popcorn, see some amazing art, and take tours of the theatre. This coming Saturday, July 14th, we will be participating again! We're stop #12 of 13 on the map: the walk is from 4-7 pm.
For more information about Artwalk Waldoboro, including a map of the route, visit artwalkwaldoboro.com.
The walk includes galleries, studios, shops with featured artists, and the Waldoboro Historical Society. We will be giving tours of the theatre, have some freshly popped popcorn (thanks again to the Narrows Tavern for their generous donation of our popcorn machine!), and be hosting local artist and creator extraordinaire, Crystal McLain!
Crystal McLain, massage therapist by day, artist by night, has had an interest in art since early childhood. Self-taught, her expressive works explore the world in vibrant color, and often blend a healthy dose of surrealistic elements with expertly represented realistic objects. McLain’s love of color and movement shine through in her work. A regular on the art scene since the 1990’s, she loves sharing her work as much as creating it.
Crystal creates incredible art prints that she has translated into children's books, journals, cards, and more. The prints below are from her collection, "The Menagerie: Hipster Critter Collection."
We're thrilled to say that Crystal plans to not only hang her vibrant, dynamic work on the walls of the Waldo but will be set up outside with some of her wares and is excited to speak with you about her work.
We're in love with amazing tribute Crystal wrote to Waldoboro and the Waldo on her blog. She clearly gets us. Click here to read.

Please stop by on July 14th, say hi to Crystal and see her gorgeous artwork, tour the theatre and chat with us about the future of the Waldo!
PS. Tickets for Raising the Roof: A Barn Party to Benefit the Waldo Theatre will be for sale for in-person purchase at artwalk! If you've been waiting to buy, don't miss the chance to grab your spot at this summer's hottest event!
