No barn party would be complete without bouquets of fresh and beautiful farm-grown flowers! We're thrilled to announce that Blue Cloud Farm will be providing the floral design for our Raising the Roof Barn Party on August 1st.
Kim Michel is the farmer and designer behind the sustainably grown cut flowers and seasonal floral design of Blue Cloud Farm. Kim says, "After moving to midcoast Maine in 2007 and settling into the community, I recognized there were already many talented farmers providing amazing food to the area. With my interest in flower growing and floral design having reached the level of serious passion, I decided to start my own farm and floral design business in 2012.
With support and help from a small team of people (and in the first two years from the MOFGA Journeyperson program), the farm and floral design business has grown through five successful seasons so far and is currently swimming in the beauty of the sixth."
Swimming in beauty indeed.
Blue Cloud Farm provides full service floral design for weddings and other special events. From the farm's website: "Using seasonal and local flowers at your celebration is a perfect way to reflect the time of year and place you've chosen to get married. Working with the freshest flowers and foliage from our fields, our arrangements showcase the unique beauty and ephemeral nature of that specific moment in the season."
You can also find their fresh seasonal cut flowers at Rising Tide Community Market in Damariscotta and sometimes at the Damariscotta Farmer's Market. If you're lucky to grab a bunch on delivery day, they'll be the freshest cut flowers you can buy!
